The construction of the palate was spread out from the end of XIII th until to the middle of the XIV th century.
Its stages are occupied today by the museum Museo Civico where one discovers the rooms of the old Sienan government.
The tower, Torre del Mangia, 102 meters high, was built by the Rinaldo brothers. It was finished in 1348.
